Fundraiser For Baby Phoenix
Phoenix has been diagnosed with a 12cm neuroblastoma tumor in his stomach, near his spinal cord. He has started on chemotherapy and we are trying to raise the funds for his parents Alex and Mae (two of our Why Knot team members) to ease their financial burden so they may focus on the journey with Phoenix’s diagnosis and treatment.
Help us with this beautiful baby’s fight with newly-diagnosed cancer.
Hi there! My name is Allison and I am the owner of Why Knot. My team of therapists, who are all contractors, work together like a family and we support each other as much as possible. Which is why I am now asking for your help!
Two of my contractors, Mae and Alex, recently received the most terrible news - a parent's worst nightmare. They have 3 small children, and their youngest, Phoenix, was diagnosed with a neuroblastoma in February of this year. After many diagnostic tests it was revealed that the tumor is 12 cm long, in his abdomen, and very close to his spinal cord. The size of the tumor, and the proximity to his spine, means that in order to operate the tumor must first be reduced in size.
While he did have to celebrate his first birthday in the hospital he has since been able to return home. This is certainly more comfortable for the family, but it also means that Mae and Alex are faced with trying to sanitize every single surface multiple times a day, in order to keep him as healthy as possible, and dedicate their time to this diagnosis and treatment.
